Experience Interns will be supervised by Dr. Laura E. Experience Interns receive a small stipend for each session they conduct and must agree to a term at least 6 months long. After this internship is completed, the Intern and Center Director may choose to apply for and transition into the role of Associate Practitioner.

    Experience

The Coaching Intern must have at least one of the following for experience:

    Academic Internships

CTRR offers Academic Internships on a case-by-case basis. CTRR is an online (only) coaching company; some academic institutions allow for this type of client experience to be considered as meeting the requirements for an academic internship, other schools do not. If you are interested in an academic internship, please ask your school the following information before inquiring about an academic internship through CTRR:

    • Am I allowed to do online sessions only (no face-to-face)?

    • Though there are several board approved supervisors that are contracted with CTRR, do I need to work with a supervisor who is practicing as a therapist (not a coach)?

    • How many client hours do I need to receive and is there a specific breakdown (number of hours or percentage of hours that need to be individual, family, or couples)?

    • Are there any additional requirements (e.g. groups, reading books, projects) that the school requires for internships?

  • Job Description

    • Has a degree, certificate and/or at least 2 years experience in the skill(s) they are interested in teaching to others

    • Is able to practice/teach their skill through a trauma-informed lens

    • Can develop curriculum for support groups, courses, workshops, or seminars that takes into context the unique recovery process for individuals coming out of high demand/high control systems

    • May choose to offer one-on-one support services to clients specifically in their area of expertise through CTRR on an as-requested basis.

    • Is interested in and/or has experience working with religious trauma, adverse religious experiences (AREs), faith deconstruction, purity/abstinence culture, toxic/harmful theology and doctrine, religious/spiritual abuse and dynamics of systemic power and control (personal experience of these dynamics and healing is not required but may serve as a benefit in working with clients).

    • Can operate independently in regard to creating resources, completing sessions, paperwork and billing, and conducting support groups.

    • Can collaborate with the Center Director, Assistant Director, and Virtual Assistant for administrative tasks and creating resources (e.g. courses and seminars)

    • Has a teamwork mentality and is willing to collaborate with other practitioners as needed; prioritizes, when necessary, participating in group consult for additional support and collaboration.

    • Would be able to develop their curriculum into an online course with the aid of other CTRR resources to be placed on sale on the website (on an as needed or interested basis)
